How many times have you come home from the grocery store only to realize you forgot a needed ingredient?
Yeah, me too.
Here are the 5 simple steps I use to make sure that doesn’t happen anymore.
1. Keep a list
We keep a magnetic notepad on our refrigerator. The idea is that as we use the last of something we write it down. I live in a house with elementary aged children so that doesn’t always happen, but I use this method a lot.
2. Check the sale ad
Looking through the sale ad can remind me of items we need that are not on the list. It also helps me plan meals around what is on sale.
3. Ask everyone want they want from the store
Often my family will want a specific dinner or may remember an upcoming event that I have forgotten.
4. Look through the cabinets and refrigerator
Once I have a general idea of what our meal plans are for the week I check to make sure we have all the needed ingredients.
5. Go through the coupons
Last I check the coupons against all items on our list. All the coupons and the list are put into an envelope inside my purse to make sure I don’t forget them at home.
