February Nuggets of Inspiration & Wisdom

Hello survivors <3

Here it is March and I am already late posting the monthly nuggets of Inspiration & Wisdom, ahh! It’s my goal to post around the last day of every month, but clearly, I missed the mark this time.

Work has been busy, like starting lots of new projects with a side of cleaning house busy. Basically, I went from prioritizing my book to prioritizing my day job without any time off in between. But that is the pendulum of life, right?

Reading

Lies my Teacher Told Me: Everything Your American History Textbook Got Wrong by James W. Loewen

This book has completely shattered the history I learned in the classroom from textbooks. I guess Hitler isn’t the only master of propaganda and slanted history.

A Wrinkle in Time by Madeline L’Engle

To encourage more reading for my boys we have begun an evening ritual of reading before bed, like when they were little. My boys are now 11 and 8 so I am trying to share some of my favorite classics with them. A good friend of mine said this was his favorite book as a child and what a great recommendation it has been. My youngest is especially excited when it is time to read more of the story. As an added bonus, when we finish this book we are going to see the new movie!

Iron Gold by Pierce Brown

I can’t say enough wonderful things about this story. Iron Gold is the third in a series that will surely have more to follow. Pierce Brown has found a way to create realistic fantasy worlds and rich characters that immerse you completely into their lives. This is one you can’t stop reading until it’s finished and that’s a problem because it’s 596 pages. It basically consumed most of my February reading and I would do it all over again!

Classes

Daily OM A Year to Clear What’s Holding You Back- The class is over, but I did not complete several lessons because I was finishing my book. This class is going to help me with my second or third book. I’m not sure how they will play out exactly, YET!

Watching

How to ADHD on Youtube- If you know anyone who has ADHD or loves someone with ADHD this is the best resource I have ever found. Please share it with them.

Episodes This one caught me off guard. I was just hoping for some background noise while I worked and ended up watching more of the show than working.

Outcasts Hilarious! Reminded me of my own awkward high school years. This is my go-to choice for watching while working out.

Podcasts

Hashtag Questions This is a podcast a friend of mine has started and it is hilarious. Definitely for adults only and you must have a questionable sense of humor, uh hem, it’s right up my alley.

How about you? What are you watching, reading, or what has inspired you this past month?
